Important - Using the HOT TIA

Currently the TIA clinic can only provide a service to ambulatory patients. Please discuss with the stroke team if a patient is not ambulatory for alternative method of reviews.

The HOT-TIA should be used only by persons with the appropriate medical qualifications.

The HOT-TIA should be used in accordance with the instructions set out in the user manual. All advise and instructions given when using the system should be followed unless there is a clinical reason for this not to take place.

If in doubt the patient should be immediately referred to a stroke team for contact details please follow the link provided.

The HOT-TIA calculates urgency of an appointment based on answers submitted by user and the user holds liability for incorrect assessments and/or referrals.

In the unlikely event of failure of software the patient should be immediately referred to a stroke team using the contact details on the form provided.
